Dear Eugenia Collier
I Think that the story Marigold was terrific, Because Its about a woman named Miss Lottie who had marigolds that was in her yard, and it was always someone that hated them, of them saying, (the memory of those marigolds flashes across my mind, a strange nostalgia comes with it and remain long after the picture has faded. I feel again the chaotic emotion of adolescence, illusive as smoke, yet as real as the potted geranium before me now.Joy and Rage and wild animal gladness and shame become tangled together in the multicolored skein of fourteen going on fifteen as I recall that devastating moment when I was suddenly more woman that child, years ago in Miss Lotties's yard).
When I heard of the word Marigolds as the title I thought this story was about one person's life about how that person found something, like say for example, they found gold because of the word Marigolds, or something that made that person's life better in life. And my second thought was that I thought the story was about flowers. But I just have one question. What was the point and the reason for you to make this story about Marigolds? Because this story reminded me of my old friend and his new next door niebor.
Sincerely,
Jesus Leonard
